The Effective Writing Program offers a range of instructional services to help students improve their writing skills and become literate members of their disciplines, their professions, and their communities. The Program also works to foster a university-wide culture that values student writing and that recognizes the profound role writing plays in the processes of inquiry, learning, and the communication and critique of knowledge.

The services offered by the Effective Writing Program include:

• the Writing Centre, a free tutorial service for students at all levels
• *NEW* Free Writing Workshops *NEW*
• *NEW* Free drop-in Writing Consultations *NEW*

IMPORTANT UPDATE:  Effective immediately, the Effective Writing Requirement has been lifted. Students are no longer required to complete Effective Writing as part of their degree program. Effective Writing will be removed from students' hold and/or to do lists as soon as possible.

The Effective Writing Centre will remain open to assist students with writing for their courses.
